The Centre was established in 1996 by Br. Brian Molloy, under the auspices of the Christian Brothers and has provided second chance education to a large number of adults both from within and outside the local area since then.

Until January 2004, the Centre was located in the CBS Primary school. Due to an increase in pupil numbers in the CBS and the consequent demand on space, the Centre re-located several times and in 2014 moved to a beautifully renovated three story building in Synge Street, Dublin 8. The centre is located at the back of the Christian Brother house on 17 Synge Street.
